Southern Hospitality Sunday Supper


Sunday Supper is available for dining in and takeout during Sunday dinner hours.

The package is generously priced and portioned for two people and will change every few weeks.

For the weekend of March 7 and March 14, we are offering: 

Fruit-Stuffed Pork Roll, Wild Rice and Butterbean Salad, Smothered Rutabega, and Buttermilk Tart

This program is spearheaded by Gary Cooper, our Executive Sous Chef. He has this to say about its origins:

"In the South, Sunday Supper is not just a meal.
It is an institution and at its heart is a sense of comradery, community, and love, which is the essence of hospitality.
My Great-Grandmother Martha Lemon owned, ran, and cooked at the Russ-Mar Inn in Gloucester, Virginia,
making it one of the first black female-owned and operated bed and breakfasts in the country.
She was an amazing cook and a warm and loving person and was always happy to have me as her helper in the kitchen.
Now, many years later, we here at Mintwood Place are lucky enough to share with this community and this family
 a taste of that tradition, at a time when hospitality, warmth, and good food are needed most."
